The Law

Admittedly, I am not a big fan of secular law. It is far too complex and there are far too many laws. The laws tend to protect corporate interests and infringe on the freedom of many. There are too many tax laws and too many ownership laws.

However. Secular law is a world ahead of religious law. Religious law is random patriarchal dictatorship coming from mad tyrants. It is the case for all three of our still held in high esteem monotheistic holy books. The books are self contradicting and an abuse of physical reality. The laws are often so absurd that it is a wonder that thinking creatures haven't noticed that religious law is simply insane.

The books that we are told by prattling priests to hold as holy have held their authority only because no one has cared to approach them for what they are. Written text by a collection of privileged men. Women were not permitted to read or write. The poor were not permitted to read of write. There was no such thing as a readable translation until very recently. It is only recently that anyone could pick up one or more of these holy books and read them.

And when the believers finally get around to actually taking a critical look at what has been spoon fed to them over the last couple thousand years, they will be unpleasantly surprised to see what a hoax religion and religious law is.

So for now, I will support secular law. It is both better than anarchy and religious law.

I am looking forward to the age when instead of adding a law a day, we start taking away a law a day. This will happen when we take our consciousness and thinking just a little more seriously.
